When Mon AI processes a consultation, your audio is sent to our AI partners via API, transcribed and structured, then the response is returned to you. Immediately after processing, all content of that interaction is completely purged from the AI systems. Beyond standard access logs, nothing remains. Your transcripts and notes are stored in your own Mon AI account, encrypted at rest and in transit, for as long as you need them. Audio files are never retained after processing. We maintain Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with our AI partners, ensuring HIPAA-compliant data handling throughout the processing pipeline and ensuring all data stays in Australia.
Unlike consumer AI products that use interactions to improve their models, Mon AI never uses your clinical data for training purposes. Your patients' symptoms, diagnoses, medications, and personal details will never become part of a dataset used to improve our AI. This is a fundamental architectural decision. We built our model training pipeline completely separately from our production systems.
All data transmitted to and from Mon AI is encrypted using TLS 1.3, the latest transport security protocol. During processing, all content is encrypted using AES-256 encryption. This is the same standard used by governments and financial institutions for classified information. Even our internal systems cannot access unencrypted patient data during processing.
Mon AI adheres to the rigorous security frameworks that healthcare demands. Our security controls align with ISO 27001 information security standards, SOC 2 Type II requirements, and HIPAA privacy and security rules. Our infrastructure partners maintain independent certifications, and we implement these same controls across our own operations. Quantum computing poses a future threat to current encryption standards. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer could theoretically break the encryption that protects most of the internet's sensitive data today. Mon AI is actively working toward implementing Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) encryption algorithms specifically designed to resist quantum attacks. We're monitoring NIST's standardisation efforts and preparing to adopt quantum-resistant encryption as these standards mature.
